Dr Akshat Sehgal completed his MBBS from the University of New South Wales in 2005. He trained at major Sydney hospitals and gained his fellowship in the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2014. He has subsequently worked as a specialist Anaesthetist.

Dr Sehgal is a senior VMO Anaesthetist at Liverpool hospital. He also provides anaesthesia services at several private hospitals around Sydney including Norwest, Macquarie, Lakeview, East Sydney, Sydney Adventist, Somerset and Gateway Day Hospital.

His major professional interests include:

• Cardiothoracic anaesthesia and perfusion
• Anaesthesia for simple and complex Orthopaedic procedures
• Spinal anaesthesia and ultrasound guided regional nerve blocks for post operative pain management
